"Situated in the hills four kilometres north of the township of McLaren Vale on the Fleurieu Peninsula, is just 40 kilometres south of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia.
"+

"McLaren Vale's climate is of the Mediterranean type: warm dry summers and cool wet winters, with low relative humidity and relatively high evaporation. The risk of rainfall or frost during the harvest period is rare, that’s why McLaren Vale is such a marvellously predictable place to grow grapes and make premium wines.
"+

"There are numerous microclimates within the region, however, determined by variations in soil type and altitude as well as the various geological landforms. This means they can make wines using fruit from these different microclimates to add complexity to their blends.
"+

"The soils in this region are only moderately fertile to poor, and in many cases quite sandy, which means vines are forced to work hard and extend their root systems to find both nutrients and water. Thus leads in the production of excellent quality wine grapes, due to the resulting low yields, giving intensity of flavour and excellent structure to the wines.
"+

"Sandy nature of many of d'Arenberg's vineyards means that the moisture holding capacity of the soils is low, especially as many of the sandy soils are over clay. This means that grapegrowers can accurately measure soil moisture uptake, and adjust any irrigation accordingly, so that the vines receive enough supplementary water (via drip irrigation) to prosper, but only enough to ensure that the grapes are concentrated and full-flavoured.

Watch their video below:
"+

"Chief Winemaker and fourth generation family member, Chester Osborn, has continued his family’s winemaking tradition, and along with his team of winemakers, utilises the original cellars and the traditional winemaking processes. All of Chester’s wines, including the whites are basket-pressed, with the reds traditionally fermented in open wax-lined concrete fermenters. Chester’s philosophy is to make wines that have great fragrance and fruit character, with palate texture and length balanced by fine natural acidity and tannins.
"+

"As a winemaker, Chester spends a fair amount of his time during the year particularly during vintage in vineyards sampling bunches of grapes to assess ripeness, flavour intensity. This in some explains his exceptional talent classifying fruit and understanding its potential way before the parcel of fruit has even reached its barrel to rest and develop. In many ways, he sees winemaking as a sculptor by turning a piece of raw material into a piece of art. "+

"

" +

"When asked about his philosophy of wine making, Chester’s response is that they are trying to make the loudest, most fragrant (both fruit and flowery youthful esters), most fruity flavour wine that has a great palate texture free of excess oak and has a long lively gritty youthful fragrant fruit tannin extending out the fruit taste to ages.
"+

"Chester has enjoyed media success, being regularly interviewed by Australian and international wine writers, undertaking guest speaker roles at industry and consumer events, and has been called upon to contribute to articles and books on wine.
"+

"In 1983, Chester graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Oenology, and took over the reins as Chief Winemaker at d’Arenberg, rejuvenating the 70-year old cellars and 19th century vineyards, and overseeing all winemaking, vineyards and marketing operations.
"+

"During most of 1984, Chester undertook a viticultural and oenological tour of wine regions in France, Italy, Germany and Spain.

"+

"In 1996 and 1999, awarded the Hyatt/Advertiser ’South Australian Wine of the Year’
"+
"In 1998, announced as Winestate magazine’s inaugural ‘Winemaker of the Year’.
"+
"In 1999, a runner-up to ‘Australian Winemaker of the Year’; short-listed for the International Wine & Spirits Competition ‘International Winemaker of the Year’.
"+

"d’Arenberg won in two consecutive years (1999 and 2000) The Wine Society Perpetual Trophy for the ‘Most Successful Winery of the Competition’ at the Sydney International Top 100 Competition.
"+

"June 2000 saw Chester Osborn voted Person of the Year at the 8th Annual Hospice du Rhone celebration (Pasa Robles, USA), in recognition of outstanding contribution to Rhone Wines. d’Arenberg was awarded the inaugural wine.com Hall of Fame Award in August 2000.
"+

"Noteworthy achievements include in 2003 d’Arenberg being awarded Australia’s ‘Winery Of The Year’ by VOGUE Entertaining and Travel Magazine.
"+

"The ‘Winery Of The Year’ trophy at the San Francisco International Wine Competition. ‘Great Value White Wine Of The Year’ at the UK International Wine Challenge, ‘Most Successful Winery’ at the Sydney International Wine Competition and ‘Best Blended Red’ at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
"+

"In September 2004, d’Arenberg was awarded at the International Wine Challenge-Asia trophy for ‘Finest Producer’ of competition and ‘Finest Chardonnay’, while in London Chester Osborn was awarded The Len Evens Trophy. This trophy is awarded each year to the winemaker with the most consistent high scores in the International Wine Challenge over a period of five years. Chester Osborn is the much-awarded chief winemaker for d’Arenberg and a regular super-juror at the International Wine Challenge. Since 1999, of 88 d’Arenberg wines entered, 85 have scored a seal of approval or better.
"+

"January 2005 Chester was awarded Wine Maker of the Year by Australian Wine Selectors as one of the ten ‘Shining Lights’ to the Australian wine industry. This is an annual award recognizing a selected group of people whose contribution to the Australian wine industry will propel themselves and the industry into future.
"+

"December 2005 To complete the year Chester Osborn was selected as WINE PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR by The Wine Advocate, Issue 162. Chester was one of 36 people nominated in the world by Robert Parker Jr.
"+

"Robert Parker Jr said; “The dynamic, gifted Chester Osborn makes an amazing array of wines in McLaren Vale, Australia, from his gorgeous assortment of value-priced offerings to his high-octane Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. His wines have been gobbled up by an insatiable American audience looking for value and individuality, and he’s one of an increasing maverick breed of Australians who have done unbelievably well in this marketplace.” "+

"Found in 1967, Carpineto is a partnership between acclaimed winemakers Giovanni C. Sacchet and Antonio M. Zaccheo. Their original mission was to produce a world-class red wine from the Chianti Classico appellation. This was a radical departure from the marketplace of the times when most Chianti was still produced in the traditional winemaking style.
"+

"Carpineto’s visionary founders knew the untapped potential of the Tuscan landscape to produce truly great wines. By applying modern viticulture and winemaking techniques, they dramatically exceeded the quality standards of the day. Under their direction, Carpineto developed an award winning, international reputation for wines of matchless intensity and extract, as well as consistency vintage after vintage. While Carpineto’s red wines are known for their aging ability, they are also exceedingly approachable upon release in part due to their extensive bottle-aging program. In fact, Carpineto ages their “riserva” wines a total of six to twelve months longer than the minimum time required by DOCG appellation rules.
"+

"Today experimentation goes hand in hand with respect for historical values. The product line includes wines from the most prestigious Tuscan DOCG appellations to varietal specific wines of great structure as well as innovative proprietary blends. Carpineto exports the majority of the wine production to about 60 countries worldwide. About 96% of Carpineto’s wine production is red wine, with the majority being “riserva” wines that are aged three or more years before their release date."+

"As one of the first companies to introduce and distribute the Prosecco in the Italian market, Zardetto is conquering the global market, and is having great success thanks to the high quality of its products. Owner Fabio Zardetto, always attentive to his customers’ needs, has invested countless resources in search of quality, resulting in consistent technological improvements that have strengthened the company’s business and consolidated its market position. "+
"
Zardetto now delivers a complete and versatile Prosecco to the educated consumer, the discerning journalist, or the curious visitor, thanks to the powerful combination of land and climate, state-of-the-art technology, hard work, and most importantly, excellent wine. "+
"
\"Zardetto Spumanti,\" located in the heart of the famous Prosecco vineyards in the beautiful Conegliano hills, 40 miles away from Venice, has been a leader in sparkling wine production for more than 30 years. But the Zardetto wine-making tradition is much older and dates back to 1934, when Fabio Zardetto’s great-grandfather Ernesto won the silver medal for the Category \"Sweet Wines.\""+
"
Continuing this tradition, Fabio’s father, Pino Zardetto, winemaker since 1952, has co-operated for 17 years with a winery in Conegliano producing Prosecco sparkling wine. In 1969, he decided to produce his own Prosecco, probably the first one distributed nationally. Fabio Zardetto joined his father’s company in 1982 as chief winemaker and as been the sole owner since 1998. He lives in his home town of Conegliano, the center of production of the renowned Prosecco di Conegliano and Valdobbiadene DOC. "+
"
Now, 36 years after the company was founded, Zardetto Prosecco, which was known first in Milano, Bologna and Roma, can be found from New York to Santa Monica, and from Tokyo to Hong Kong. “Zardetto Spumanti” controls the whole production process, starting with the vines and continuing until the Prosecco reaches the consumer. In 2002, Fabio turned his efforts to the planning and construction of a new winery. "+
"
Today Zardetto Spumanti owns a large and modern winery, completed in 2005, that houses a tasting room with a picturesque vineyard views and a Prosecco wine shop. The winery incorporates the most sophisticated technologies, a team of skilled and talented experts, and a strong partnership with grape growers."+

"

"+
"The DNA of wine is in their blood. They grew up seeing their grandparents and parents tending the vineyards: the men pruning the vines and the women tying down the canes; the women picking the grapes and the men hoisting the boxes onto the shoulders. As soon as they were able to walk, they were sent into the vineyards to pull up the weeds growing between the rows."+
"
Their families began making their own wine in the middle of the last century, selling it in bulk to the big bottling companies operating in those days. The turning-point came in 1982: Guido Fantino and Claudio Conterno purchased casks, tanks and a crusher, and set up Azienda Agricola Conterno Fantino."+
"Today half the production is sold in Italy, through a vast network ranging from leading restaurants to old-world osterias, while the remaining 50% is exported: half to the United States and half to 30 other countries worldwide.

"+
